The Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) used to consist of two separate Faculties:
- The Faculty of Economics: which was started as the Faculty of Economics in the year 2009 in which the first batch of students were admitted
- The Faculty of Business Administration: which was the first Faculty established when the Puntland State University (PSU) was established as a fully-fledged University in 2004.
In 2011, both Faculties were merged into one Faculty with two Departments:
The mission of the Faculty is to understand the decisions of businesses and consumers as well as the implications and causes of contemporary economic issues by developing a systematic and thorough understanding of precisely how economic systems operate.
The Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) has well-educated academicians and a dedicated staff. Most of our lecturers are holders of Masters Degrees.
Our Faculty is one of the fastest growing departments at Puntland State University due to the relevance of our subject matter to current affairs, and the excellent reputation of teaching and scholarship within the department
The current number of Faculty students is 600. The first batch from the Faculty graduated in 2007. Until 2012, a total of five batches of students have graduated from the Faculty with the last graduation ceremony graced by the President of Puntland, His Excellency Abdirahman Farole, on 12th July 2012.
FBE is located at the main campus of Puntland State University in Garowe, the Capital of Puntland.
